7th and 8th “B” Grade Basketball teams place 2nd in Bangs Tournament

The Brownwood “B” Basketball teams both received a nice 2nd place plaque for their effort in the Bangs “A” Tournament. The 7th grade boys “B” team went 2-3 with their only loss coming from a very competitive Jim Ned Indian 31-37. They defeated Bangs 28-10 and Cross Plains 21-16. Lions defeat Goldthwaite

The Brownwood Lions held on to beat Goldthwaite on Tuesday night 49-45 at Warren Gym.  In a tightly contested game, the Lions kept their cool and finished off the Eagles in the 4th quarter.  The Lions will be back in action on Friday 12/18, when they travel to Gatesville to face the Hornets.  Game times

Varsity Boys take 3rd Place at Hamilton Tourney

The Varsity Boys Basketball Team finished the Hamilton Tournament with a 2-1 record and took the 3rd place trophy.  The Lions opened the tournament with a victory over Clifton.  After losing to Lampasas in the semi-finals, the Lions responded by beating Dublin 71-61 for 3rd place.  D’avion Wasson was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Varsity Boys Fall to Eastland

The Varsity Boys Basketball Team lost a road game to Eastland on Tuesday night Dec 8, 71-59.  Pacing the Lions was Cory Richardson with 20 points.  Eric Burns had 11 points & D’Avion Wasson threw in 10.  The Lions return to action on Thursday Dec 10 against Clifton in the Hamilton Tournament.

JV Boys Win Gatesville Tourney, Fresh take 2nd

The JV Boys Basketball Team won 1st Place in the Gatesville Tournament this past weekend.  Also, the Freshman Boys Team placed 2nd in the Gatesville Tournament.  Congrats to both teams.

Boys Basketball Schedule Changes

Due to teams competing in the football playoffs, the following Boys Basketball Games have been cancelled: Tues, Nov. 17th vs. Bangs, Fri, Nov. 20th @ Ballinger, Tues, Nov. 24th @ Jim Ned.  

Basketball Banquet for Lions and Lady Lions

The Basketball Banquet will be May 7 at 6:30 in Warren Gym.  There will be a dinner followed by the Banquet. Parents and fans are invited to attend.  The dinner will be $8. Please RSVP by May 1 with Lisa Jaso or Coach Hohertz
